Eight Accidents Reported In County With Four Injured
A sequence of eight accidents occurred in the county late Saturday afternoon. At 4:00 p.m. on U S Route 460 a crash between Hazel Kellough of Evansville Indiana and Carl Williams of Elgin caused heavy vehicle damage. At 4:15 p.m. on the same route four miles southwest of Mt Vernon a collision between Kenneth Burgdorf of Evansville Indiana and Virginia Russell of Eureka Missouri produced major damage to Burgdorf and minor damage to Russell. A 4:55 p.m. crash three miles south of town on state route 37 harmed drivers Eugene Lawrence of Marion and Paul Tapley of Thebes Illinois with minor damage to their cars.
