Deaths Amos Parkhill longtime resident dies in Centralia
Amos Parkhill a former resident of Belle Rive and Dahlgren communities died Thursday at his home in Centralia Washington after a long illness. He was 72 years, five months and six days old. Funeral services and burial will be held next Tuesday afternoon in Centralia with Newell-Healing Funeral Home in charge. He is survived by his wife Roxie Carr Parkhill, two daughters Madlyn Hughey of Centralia and Roxie Maxine Tennyson of Morganfield KY, and four sons Wilburn Parkhill Edelstein Illinois Elvis Parkhill Kenneth Parkhill and Robert Parkhill all of Centralia.

A Mt. Vernon businessman Beechworth Brumbaugh and a Chicago woman Mary Lewis were hospitalized after separate early morning crashes near Mt. Vernon. Brumbaugh, 1015 South 10th Street, suffered severe ear and head cuts when his car went out of control on Richview Road near Mt. Vernon. Lewis, 48, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by L. A. Lewis and sustained major injuries on Highway 37 south of Mt. Vernon. Both Brumbaugh and Lewis and their respective drivers were treated at Good Samaritan Hospital. Brumbaugh’s condition described as satisfactory and Lewis’ as good. In a second incident, Leslie Hass and Lloyd L. Sullins were injured in a two-car crash on Interstate 57 north of Benton, with Hass as a Johnston City resident and Sullins from Herrin.
