Farmer killed as wagon collides with truck in Illinois
Clinton county farmer Edward Sprehe, 50, of near Posey, Illinois, was killed when his horse drawn wagon collided with a truck on Illinois highway 12 near Posey. The truck driver Erwin Weihe, 23, of Okawville was not reported injured. One horse also died in the crash.

Eighty-two people from southern Illinois towns attended the semi annual University of Illinois Division of Services for Crippled Children clinic in Mt. Vernon at the Masonic Temple. The event set a record for patients examined in one day, with two adults and 80 youth ages six months to 20 years. Plans were made to hold four Mt. Vernon clinics in 1951 to meet growing need. Grace F. Borah led the clinic with noted improvements reported and immediate hospitalization and braces arranged for several children.
