Mt Vernon firefighters made two runs over the weekend. At 6 40 p m Saturday they answered a call on Salem Road where a motorcycle owned by Bobby Lyle caught fire from a backfire. The bike was heavily damaged. Earlier Saturday firemen controlled a fire at the Mt Vernon Fairgrounds damaging a fence.
