Death of Oscar Rector at 84 in Mt Vernon area
Oscar B Rector 84 of Salem Road died 3 50 PM yesterday at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Born in Pope county October 10 1887 he married Eula Faye Martin in Marion February 20 1909 who preceded him in death. He worked in Mt Vernon car shops and 25 years at Nelson Concrete Co. He belonged to Teamsters Local No 50 and First Free Will Baptist church. Funeral Friday 1 30 PM at the church with Rev Howard Flora officiating burial Mt Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Hughey Pulley Funeral Home after 5 PM tomorrow and until 11 AM Friday when body moves to church to lie in state. He survived by three sons Raymond Howard and Kenneth Rector a daughter Ruby Martin a brother Orval Rector a sister Mrs Mary Ellen Flagg five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife two brothers and two sisters.
