Death of Frank Whisenhunt at 61 follows Mt. Vernon work life
Frank Whisenhunt, 61, died Thursday at 11 80 a.m. at his home 404 Ball street Mt. Vernon after a long illness. He formerly worked in the wood erect department at Mt. Vernon car shops and was retired. Funeral services are set for Sunday at 2 p.m. in Myers Chapel with Rev. Olen Greathouse officiating and Oakwood cemetery burial. Burial body in state at Myers Chapel after midnight Saturday. He was born February 10 1896 in Jefferson county to Samuel and Amanda Tucker Whigenhunt and lived his life in the county. On June 8 1918 he married Georgia Browder. Surviving, besides his wife, are two daughters Mrs Doris Howell and Mrs Helen Beard of Mt. Vernon, two brothers Walter of Mt. Vernon and Dexter of Bonnie, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. World War I veteran, he served as Private First Class with M G Co 118th Infantry.

Man Sentenced for 1954 Armed Robbery in Illinois
