Two Ina men held in jail over weekend tape thefts
County deputies arrested a 21 year old Ina man and a 9 year old companion after a Woodlawn theft of 32 eight track tapes and a case from a car at Ina Tinco Station. A Mt. Vernon man on 72 hour Joliet penitentiary leave was jailed after a burglary in progress at 1309 Perkins Ave. Also reported were burglaries at a houseboat on Iaa Marina, purses stolen, shop and garage break ins, and thefts from a coke machine and other locations over the weekend.

Bomb Threat Halts Takeoff Of Jetliner At O Hare
A DC 10 bound for Los Angeles halted on a taxi strip at O Hare after a passenger warned crew of a bomb aboard. Patricia Goldschmidt of Elgin, 32, was hospitalized for examination. no charges were filed. Police found no bomb after a search and 253 passengers were evacuated and rebooked on other flights.
