Death of Earl Harlow in Missouri Veterans Hospital
Friends report the death of Earl Harlow age 61 on Saturday July 12 at the Veterans Hospital Jefferson Barracks Mo. He had been hospitalized for some time and was a World War I veteran. Funeral services were held at Southern Funeral Home St. Louis with Chaplain Lea in charge and burial at National Memorial Cemetery near Jefferson Barracks. He lived much of his life in Field township and is survived by brothers Ray of Litchfield Island and Clyde of Texico.

Man Hurt as Horse Killed in State Highway 15 Crash
A horse was killed and Hugo Zimmer of Salem was slightly injured when a 1951 model car collided head on with a loose horse on State Highway 15, one mile east of Mt. Vernon. Zimmer reported the horse darted into the road. his car suffered $945 in damage from a nose cut and wreck.
