Melvin Knappier In Jail After Accidental Shooting
Melvin Knappier aged 18 of 1110 S Zird St remains in county jail on a reckless conduct charge after a July 14 accidental shooting in an alley between Prairie and Newby Aves. He allegedly shot John Puckett 22 in the left shoulder with a .22 revolver. Bail set at 1000 dollars. Knappier told officers he thought the gun was empty when he pointed it at Puckett.
