Donald Lee Ferguson 48 of Des Moines Iowa died Monday. He was executive director of Mutual Insurance Agencies of Iowa and a WW II veteran. Survived by wife Anita M Mathies two daughters Judith and Jane a son John his parents Willis and unknown Ferguson two brothers Archie and others. Funeral Thursday at Myers Chapel with Reverend Billy Coatney. burial in Anna Illinois.

Karen Sue LeMonds, 23, of 712 S 18th St in Mt. Vernon, was injured when her car overturned on Route 460 three miles west of McLeansboro at 3:30 a.m. today. She suffered severe facial lacerations and was treated at Hamilton Memorial Hospital. Deputies say she failed to negotiate a curve and was alone in the vehicle.
