Anderson Rites Set Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Anderson, 73, will be held Monday at the St. Titus Catholic church in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. She died Friday morning in a hospital in Mt. Vernon. Surviving are a son Albin Abramobich and a daughter Mildred Loehr, plus four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Boy 17 fatally stabbed in East St. Louis street fight

A 17-year-old, Ellsworth Ellison, was stabbed to death during a late Friday night street fight in East St. Louis. A 19-year-old youth is in police custody awaiting an inquest.

Governor Stevenson Eulogized by State Leaders

Governor Stevenson was honored by a gathering of notable figures including Judge Carl McGowan and Newton Minow. His body rested in the rotunda until 10 a.m. Sunday before a 60 mile funeral cortege to Bloomington where he would be buried Monday. Vice President Hubert H. GUAM B52s BOMB REDS IN VIET PASS CONTINUED

A Vietnamese forest near Bien Hoa was the scene of a B52 attack that ambushed a high value target wounded him seriously. He died en route to Saigon after being flown from the field. Thao faced a death sentence in absentia from a military tribunal on May 7. Reliable reports placed him earlier in a Roman Catholic monastery near Thu Duc, Saigon suburb. Bien Hoa lies 20 miles northeast of Saigon with many of his civilian and military followers described as Catholics.

Man Killed Five Children Burned in East St. Louis Fire

A fatal blaze at an East St. Louis home housing two families left one man dead and five children injured from burns and smoke inhalation. Fire officials identified the deceased as 63 year old Maynard Jones.
