Vernon for Child of a World War II veteran. Five scholarships exist per county. no Agriculture scholarship winner this year. Exams occur first Saturday in June with papers graded by the University.

Three persons were treated for injuries at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital yesterday afternoon. Delores Edminson, 12, of Keenes, fractured her right arm in a fall at home. J. W. Hunter, 20, of 1206 Main Street, received a cut on his left hand from broken glass at Master Baking Co. Terry Carlton, 7, of Wayne City, was treated after a nail pierced his arm.

Stove Explodes Damages Home on RFD 2 in Old Union
Explosion of a kerosene stove yesterday afternoon started a fire in the home of Charles E. Roeder on RFD 2 in Old Union north of Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Roeder, who was canning berries, was uninjured as flames spread to three rooms of the seven room house. Rural firefighters said three rooms were ablaze on arrival and estimated damage to the house and contents well over $1,000.

Autos Collide Injuring Boy in City Crash
An eight year old, Charles Richard Flanagan, suffered a nose injury yesterday when two cars collided at Tenth and Newby. Drivers were S. M. Dare of 1717 Broadway and Richard Flanagan of Mt. Vernon. Flanagan was arrested on a traffic charge following the accident.
