In Evansville Indiana unrest followed the fatal shooting of 14 year old Jeffrey Taylor as four Negro youths were wounded by sniper fire and many fires set by firebombs. Firefighters battled 16 blazes and 20 alarms as 24 people were arrested for curfew violations. Four Injured In Two Accidents
Four people sustained minor injuries in two separate crashes early today. Odessia Tolliver and two of her passengers were hurt when her car rear ended by Elbert Banes on 10th and Harrison. Banes, 18, was cited for following too closely. Tolliver’s damage exceeded $100. Banes’ car had minor damage. In a second crash, Mary Morrison, 21, suffered facial cuts in a collision at 15th and Cherry while Steven Morrison, 22, and Bradley Williams, 18, faced alcohol charges and Williams’ car struck a building and a porch, with damages over $100 to both cars. A third incident involved a city dump truck hitting a parked car at 1010 Salem Road, with Max Marcus in the car. no arrests. Marcus’s car and the truck each suffered over $100 in damage.
