Lattimore perjury charges partially reinstated by appeals court
The U S Court of Appeals upheld dismissal of two perjury charges against Owen Lattimore including the key count, but reinstated two others based on testimony about Asiaticus and article editing. Funeral rites set for Eldorado Taylor at 90
Eldorado Taylor aged 90 died at 8:00 this morning at 1112 Lamar Avenue. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Myers Chapel with Rev. Harrison Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Middlefork Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel after 4:00 p.m. Friday. She was born April 15, 1864 in Jefferson County to William and Delilah Hicks. She was married to J. N. Taylor who died in 1932. She was a Primitive Baptist Church member. Survived by four daughters Edna Kirk Myrtle Glover Gertrude Williams and Pearl Britton. six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two daughters preceded her in death.

Mrs Silas Leslie 74 died at her McLeansboro home at 4:00 am after an 18 month illness. Born in Hamilton County November 21 1880 she was the daughter of Sylvester and Missouri DeWitt. She married Silas Leslie in 1901 and was a Pleasant Grove Methodist member. Survived by husband three daughters Evelyn Johnson Lucille Slater and Hazel Ramano two sons Earnest and Clarence a sister Effie Ewing twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were incomplete with body at Donaldson Funeral Home until the hour.

In Waukesha Wisconsin a young mother Madeline Knuese 31 and her three children Robert Jr 6 Margaret 2 and Mary 3 died in a residence fire in the Gatewood subdivision.
