Associated Press reports soybeans jumped on the Board of Trade closing 1 to 5 cents higher with July at 2.5234 to 2.5245 dollars per bushel and gains 12 to 18 cents from Saturday. Wheat futures rose 4 to 5 cents, July closing near 2.01 to 2.01 a bushel as mills snapped up flour. Brokers say mills bought heavily and bakers replenished inventories after years of small flour purchases.

A rural fire heavily damaged a 1941 model truck owned by H. E. Owens of RFD 6 around 10:25 last night. The blaze, likely from a wiring short, occurred about a mile northeast of Mt. Vernon on Tolle Road. Firemen extinguished the fire. the cab was practically demolished.
