Deaths Neil Hines Rites Set Tuesday in Wayne City

Funeral services for Neil Hines, 59, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p m at Richardson Chapel in Wayne City. The Rev John Beck will officiate with burial in Thomason cemetery. The body lies in state after 5:00 p m today. Hines, formerly of Keenes, was brother in law of Delbert Carlton of Mt Vernon. He died last Friday in Port Huron Michigan.

Alice Striplin 69 of 216 South 16th Street died at 2:25 PM Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital after a three week stay. Funeral services 10:00 AM Tuesday at Myers Chapel with Rev. Clinton Peek. Burial in Clayton Cemetery West Frankfort. Visitation after 4:00 PM today. She was born October 20, 1897 in Murphysboro. Survived by sister Helen Striplin of Mt. The report details Capt. Dale M. Pichard of Llano Texas and Capt. Gregory Etzel of Albany Georgia rescuing pilots under fire in North Vietnam. National Guard Plans 50 Round Salute at Camp Ripley

The 33rd Infantry Division Illinois National Guard will fire a 50 round salute from three tanks of the 126th Armored at Camp Ripley Minnesota. Illinois units attend two week summer field training. The division logged 1,335 vehicles and nearly 1 million vehicle miles during the trip through Illinois Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Heavy New York Rain Disrupts Subway and Roads

A heavy rainfall in New York drenched the city with 2.07 inches in three hours causing flooding in sections and snarling subway service. Several heavily traveled subway lines were out of service and expressways flooded during the morning rush, with forecasts for more showers and gusty winds later. Durovic Attacked At Stop Signal

CHICAGO AP Marko Durovic 67 sponsor of Krebiozen was beaten and robbed early today as four men pulled him from his car at a West Side traffic signal. They took about 800 dollars in cash and jewelry and fled in his car. He was taken to Cook County Hospital for bruises and lacerations. Durovic was en route from his Chicago office to his Winnetka home.

Rampage by youths hits Lake Geneva amid curfew

In a second night of violence in Lake Geneva Wisconsin thousands of youths hurled beer bottles and fireworks at police. Windows were broken meters ripped loose and officers were stoned as authorities estimated over 100 arrests across two nights with 30 to 40 jailed Sunday night. Police moved crowds to a lakeside park and imposed a 1 am curfew while bar closings were advanced.

Jack Outland, former Mt. Vernon Airport manager, is now second officer on Braniff International Airways’ Dallas to Chicago flight.
