Carl S. Walker died of a heart attack in Clearwater Florida where he had lived the past two years. He was a former president of J W Walker & Sons and a longtime head of Walkers Inc retired in 1954 after a heart attack. Born April 30 1889 in Carterville he served in WWI with the 62nd Engineers and lived in Dayton Ohio during his later career. He leaves wife Sybil a daughter a brother and a sister with funeral services in Clearwater today.

Alfred Buck Wilson, a 37 year old ex convict truck driver, is killed by Ohio state troopers after a 12 day manhunt for a triple murder spree sparked by anger at his wife. He killed two sisters in law, his wife’s sister, and kidnapped and killed 16 year old Nancy Worthington before lawmen cornered him in a Leavittsburg yard. Wilson died five hours later in hospital with a Luger pistol in hand and gunsmoke on his brain.

Tumbles Down Waterfall In Wisconsin Rescue Ends With Bruises
A 14 year old boy, Dan McNamara of Superior, slipped from Manitou Falls in Pattison State Park and tumbled 100 feet into a pool below. He was rescued with minor cuts and bruises after lifeguards hauled him to safety. His friend Dennis Sichinger, age 14, alerted help and doctors sewed a small arm cut before discharge.
