Death of William E. Striplin and funeral plans
William E. Striplin of 216 south 16th street died at 11 a.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital. A retired railroad brakeman, he will be buried in Clayton cemetery at West Frankfort after a 3:00 p.m. Saturday funeral at Myers Chapel officiated by Rev. F. L. Trotter. The body lies in state at Myers Chapel after 4:00 p.m. today. He was born in Murphyshoro, son of Morris and Sarah Elizabeth Morris Striplin, and had resided in Mt. Vernon for 385 years. Survivors include two sisters, Alice and Helen Striplin, of Mt. Vernon, and several nieces and nephews.

Stanley Peddicord 5 died Sunday morning at his DeKalb home from an apparent heart attack. Funeral services were held Wednesday at DeKalb Funeral Home with burial there. He was born January 17 1910 in Wayne County the son of Mr and Mrs R C Peddicord. Survivors include his parents two children a son Dennis two daughters Carlene five sisters and two brothers.
