Four Injured in Bus Crash Near Volo Illinois
A Greyhound bus carrying 23 passengers collided with a passenger car at highways 12 and 120 near Volo in Lake County. The bus burst into flames, but all escaped via an emergency door. The driver and one passenger were injured, not seriously. Two car occupants, Avery Cramer of Maquoketa Iowa and his wife, were reported in critical condition at Woodstock hospital.

Edgar N Pursel, 65, former Mt. Vernon resident, died at 5:00 am in Carmi. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Sunday at Mt. Catherine cemetery. The body will lie in Myers Chapel after 10:00 am Saturday. He was a retired farmer and was married to Clara W Reddlein, who preceded him in death.
