Chas F Lee, former Mt. Vernon resident, died January 27 in Urbana Illinois at age 82. Born October 28 1879 in Rome township he taught 31 years and led Franklin school as principal. He served as Jefferson County superintendent and taught math at Chanute Air Force Base 1941 1946. Survived by Brenda Barr wife son George Roger Lee daughter Marjorie Vaughn five grandchildren two sisters and two brothers. Funeral at University Place Christian Church Urbana with interment Grandview Gardens.

Joseph H. Elliston of Waltonville Route 2 died at 4 55 am at his home after a heart attack. He was 77 years old. Funeral services are set for 1 30 pm Friday at Fry Funeral Home Waltonville with Rev J G Parsons officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens. He leaves a son Elwin Elliston of Waltonville and a brother Samuel G. Elliston of Fulton Kentucky. He was born May 23 1884 in Jefferson County to Erasmus and Mary Frances Howe Elliston and married Opal Murray in July 1927.
