Born October 10, 1877 in Eddyville Indiana.

Arthur August Knollhoff of RFD 3 Mr. Vernon died at 10 30 p m Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital at age 56 eight months seven days after a stroke. Funeral services Tuesday at 10 a m in the Chapel of Pulley Funeral Home with Rev Ace Summers officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Memorial cemetery. He was a farmer born August 22 1898 in Mascoutah Illinois, the son of Fred and Ella Duncan Knollhoff. Survived by wife Lulu a son Gene of Mesa Arizona a daughter Elsie Ellis of Mt Vernon five grandchildren and one brother Fred K of New Jersey. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Arrest Four For Liquor Selling In City
Four men were arrested Sunday night on charges of selling liquor without a license. John N. Smith of 1125 South Ninth pleaded guilty before Police Magistrate Allan Dulaney, fined 50 and costs of 6.70. The others entered not guilty pleas. bonds set at 200 each.
