Two Men Jailed for Stealing Candy From Blind Veteran

Seven Hurt in Chicago Gas Plant Explosion
CHICAGO, Jan. 28. A boiler room explosion at the People's Gas Light and Coke plant on 1164 Cermak Road injured seven people, with one man critically burned and sent to St. Luke's Hospital. The two and a half story brick plant was destroyed and windows shattered in nearby homes. Firemen contained the blaze as dozens prepared to treat additional victims. John Huehro, 62, of 2212 Belden Avenue, suffered burns over his body.
