The Rev William Home Farthing a former Mt Vernon resident died at 5 30 a m today at his home in Etna Green Indiana He was 4 0 Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church in Etna Green where he was a member and pastor Burial will be in that community The body will be in state at the Bourbon Funeral Home in Bourbon Indiana friends may call Saturday afternoon Survivors include his wife Carrie Mel Clure three sisters Mrs Delia Jane Hughey and others plus two half brothers Rollie Hughey of Mt Vernon and Sam Hughey of Bonnie.

Homer E. Maulding, longtime Dahlgren area journalist and former poultry businessman, died at 4:00 a.m. in Kalamazoo, Michigan at age 89. He wrote for The Register-News for over 20 years and covered local fires and auto accidents. Surviving are daughters Vivian Kibler of Kalamazoo and Ruth Maulding of Louisville. Funeral arrangements were pending.
