Sam Raney died at 5 30 this morning at his home in Enfield He was a brother of Arthur Raney of 1308 South 13th Street and John Raney of 813 South 17th Street Funeral arrangements were incomplete
Enola McKenzie 73 of Ina died at 8 30 am at Hester Nursing Home. She was married to Jesse McKenzie who died March 26 1951. Funeral 2 00 pm Monday at Ina Baptist Church. Burial in Smith Cemetery. She was born August 6 1883. Survived by two sons Arvid and Thomas L both of Vernon two daughters Rosalee Stull Ina and Richard Brannon Harry Welch and Otis Hayes all of Detroit nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Janes A. Patterson 72 mother of Mrs. Alvin Lacy Williams of Mt. Vernon were held at 12 p.m. today at Vanatt Funeral Home Carbondale. She died Wednesday night and is survived by husband Vernon Patterson Carbondale a son two daughters Clara Topping Paducah and Alice Williams Mt. Vernon and four grandchildren.

Bedwell renegs on a confession while police identify associates in the Dec 28 disappearance of Mia Loretta Grimes and sisters from their South Side home. The nude bodies were found near Willow Springs. Irene Dean and Carol King, 18, say Bedwell and a companion picked them up on West Madison Street. Rich ard W. Wittemire, 28, is held for questioning. sheriff notes other unnamed participants. The case centers on Bedwell escorted by a man to bars on Madison before the sisters vanished.
