Motorcyclist Killed in Collision Near Rosiclare
A Rosiclare motorcyclist, Bruce Jackson, 30, died after his bike collided with a truck on Highway 34 toward Eddyville Road. Passenger Garry Sheller, 24, of Rosiclare, suffered a broken leg and arm and cuts. Milas Vaughn said the motorcycle attempted to pass and struck the truck’s front wheel as it began to turn. the truck sustained heavy damage and Vaughn was uninjured.

Firemen Respond to Two Blazes in Mt Vernon
Mt Vernon firemen answered alarms last night and early today. At 10 p m they responded to a trailer fire at the rear of 718 Main with a fuel oil circulator flare up but no damage.
