Funeral services for Miss Thelma Jane Ferguson of Ashley are set for 2:00 p m Thursday at Schroeder Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Reverends Sims Branon officiating. Burial will be Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Du Quoin. The body lies in state after 6:00 p m today. Ferguson, 53, died after shooting at her sister’s home in Du Rushes. She had worked as a skier at Ashley State Bank until retirement three months ago. Born March 18, 1909 in Ashley, she was the daughter of Burrill and Iva (Martel) Ferguson. Survived by brothers Raymond and Albert Ferguson and sisters Edith Clark Della Boykin and Marjorie Johnston.

Ira Spangler Rites Thursday At Dahlgren
Funeral services for Ira Jason Spangler will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist church in Dahlgren with Rev. Ed Minor officiating. Burial will be in the I. C. O. F. cemetery. The body will lie in state at Gholson Funeral Home after 3:00 p.m. today. Spangler, 75, of Dahlgren, died Monday in Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a longtime Dahlgren pharmacist and served on the Dahlgren school board, as village treasurer, and as a Sunday school teacher and church trustee. He was born Oct. 21, 1886, in Livingston county, Illinois. He married Mary Barton on Nov. 27. she survives, along with daughter Martha Kelley of Decatur and two grandchildren. He was a member of the Dahlgren Masonic Lodge.
