Fireball or Meteor Lands in Darby Bedroom

William C. Cunningham of Darby Township reported a fireball crashed through his bedroom window and exploded on his bed. He suffered a severe burn to his hand as experts from Delaware County and the University of Pennsylvania weighed meteorite versus homemade object theory with mixed conclusions.

Lenora Moore, 56, died at 9:00 am at her home 732 Airport Road. Born May 11, 1898 in Stone County Missouri, she was the daughter of Monta and Martha Bright. Four Injured In Two Mt. Vernon Area Crashes

Four persons were hospitalized at Good Samaritan Hospital with injuries from two accidents in the Mt. Vernon area. The first crash on Liberty Road, six miles east of the city, at 9:50 a.m. Sunday involved L. A. Adams and William M. Boykin, both driving RED 4. Delbert Boykin, 60, of Belle Rive, suffered a severe head injury. his wife Ellen, 53, and grandson Jimmy Shane, 2, were also hurt. Deputy John Richardson investigated and reported heavy damage to both cars. The fourth patient, Walter T. Cunningham of Indianapolis, Indiana, was injured on State Route 37 south of Salem. details were unavailable.

Cabin Break-In Reported On Richview Road West Of Mt Vernon

County officers investigated a break-in at an unoccupied cabin six miles west of Mt Vernon on Richview Road. The lock was broken but stored articles appeared undisturbed. The cabin is owned by Art Troutt, formerly of Woodlawn, now residing in Chicago.

Grand Jury In Session Today

A Jefferson county grand jury convened at the courthouse this morning. States Attorney Demetri Haskakis said jurors expect to finish deliberations on criminal cases this afternoon and report findings to Judge Charles Randolph. 7th Fleet Standing At The Ready Near Formosa
