Mrs Ora Jane Donoho aged 77 of Salem died Tuesday morning at Salem Memorial Hospital. Funeral services set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Wells Chapel Church with Rev James Clark presiding. Burial at New Home Cemetery. She is survived by husband Rev L A Donoho two brothers John F Fox of Salem Clinton Fox of Dixon and sister Mrs Amy McGinty of Salem. She was predeceased by parents John W Fox and Emma Outright Fox.

Dynamite Blast Kills Three at Maule Industries Plant

A massive dynamite blast at Maule Industries in Penasaca near Miami left at least three workers dead and destroyed two trucks. Collinsville man falls to death at zinc plant roof

A Collinsville resident Lawney Giddings, 49, died after falling from the roof of the old American Zinc Plant in Fairmont City near East St. Louis on Tuesday. He lived at 2137 Wheebley Street.

Two Russians Reported in Shreveport Visit Incident

President Johnson and Canada's Lester B Pearson conclude two days of talks with harmony as they sign two U S Canadian pacts. Tippit's Grave Still Unmarked

In a south Dallas cemetery the grave of patrolman J. D. Tippit remains unmarked aside from a Christmas wreath and artificial roses. Western Union Rate Increases Approved by Illinois Commission

The Illinois Commerce Commission granted rate hikes for Western Union public telegraph and money orders and its commercial news service. The telegraph revenue rises by 159 459 from a prior annual estimate of 1 692 775, while the commercial news service grows by 7 29 from 9 113. The FCC and other states have issued similar increases.

Joe Winfrey of Mt Vernon Chamber of Commerce and Industry met SIU department heads Tuesday to discuss cost of living surveys for southern Illinois and nearby border states. Frank Kirk of the Board of Economic Development joined. Ralph Bedwell of the Small Business Institute called the meeting. A Mt. Vernon taxicab owned by Roy Smith shows a bullet hole in the lower right rear door, discovered this morning and police deem it vandalism. The cab had been parked between 8:30 and 9:30 last night.

Auto Stolen On West Main Street This Morning

A white over blue 1959 Oldsmobile four door sedan owned by Joseph Kaminski of Woodlawn was stolen from near 15th and Main Street between 8:00 am and unknown time. The car bears 1963 license plates 266-713. Police are investigating.

Two Hub Cap Thefts Reported in Mt Vernon

Mt Vernon police received reports of two hub cap thefts on Tuesday. Floyd Sexton 423 Johnson said someone took two wheel covers and a grease cap from his car parked at home. Elmer Bornman 1412 Harrison reported two hub caps stolen from his vehicle.

Plan Commission Advances Zoning Code Review

Plan Commission, meeting weekly for a word by word study, continued its examination of a long zoning ordinance. It plans to present the document to the city council in mid February with a recommendation for adoption as part of Mt. Vernon’s Master Plan for future growth.
