Herschel D Goostree 70 years six months nine days old died at home in Kirkwood Missouri at 9:00 am Wednesday. He was brother to Clara Bell Hall and Mabel Motch of Mount Vernon and a former Centralia resident. A retired Diamond Match Company employee, he served in World War One and belonged to American Legion Forty and Eight UCT. Funeral at Grace Episcopal Church Kirkwood 11:00 am Monday. friends may call 2:00 to 9:00 pm Sunday at Pfitzinger Funeral Home. He was born July 12 1895 in Dix. He is survived by wife Etta Roberlne, sister Estella Eiler of St Louis, daughter Joan at home, and brother E F Goostree of Norfolk VA.
