James E. Houk aged 85, a retired carpenter, died at 10 45 am yesterday at his Sims home. Private funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at the family home with Rev L Is Lousignant officiating. Burial will be in Dickeyville cemetery. The body remains at Combs Chapel Wayne City until 4 pm Friday, then goes to the family home. Born January 3, 1864 in Rockcastle County Kentucky, he was the son of Hiram and Mahala Houk. He married Della Martin on April 29, 1895, who survives. Also surviving are two sons Golden of New York City and William of Detroit, Michigan. two daughters Bessie Steiner of Detroit and Hazel Young of Sims. and four grandchildren.
