MEMPHIS TENN Jan 17 Twenty year old Wilson Curtis worked as a wrapper at a men’s clothing store. He mailed himself a suit and three ties and kept 76 dollars from the till. He spent 38 cents on stamps for the package. Postal inspectors flagged the package and returned it with a note needing 18 cents in stamps. Curtis pleaded guilty to petty larceny and received 11 months 29 days at the Shelby County Penal Farm.

Two Fliers Die Five Hurt In Griffiss Bomber Crash
A B-17 bomber from Griffiss Air Force Base crashed near Rome New York today. Two airmen were killed and five injured seriously. The four engine aircraft struck a elm tree on approach and rolled into a tree nursery field before exploding in flames. Names of the dead were not disclosed by the base.
