Eva Lena Sledge died at her Bonnie home at 87 years. She was born April 7, 1815 in Jefferson County to Greenbury Chilton and Martha Ann Moore. She married James Hardy Sledge in 1899. he died in 1961. Survived by son Gale Sledge, daughter Gladys Sledge of Bonnie, sister Mrs T E Helvey of Pinckneyville, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. body at Myers Chapel.

He was born November 5 1890 in Olmsted IL and married Sarah Rhymer April 4 1909 in Mound City Tl who survives. Also surviving are two sons Lawrence and Wayne a daughter Coenia Peterson a brother Russell J Bise a sister Maggie Lilley five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents a brother and three sisters. He was a retired employee of the Illinois Central Railroad.
