Mrs Etta Hicks died at 9 30 pm Sunday at her home 307 North 22nd Street at age 91 years four months and 24 days Funeral services will be held at Myers Chapel Lester Pifer minister of the Central Church of Christ will officiate and burial will be in the ICCF cemetery at Woodlawn The body will be in state at Myers Chapel after 2 00 pm Tuesday She was born August 22 1865 in LaSalle County Illinois daughter of Hiram and Laura Dunlap She had lived in Jefferson County for 80 years She married John T Hicks in 1881 who preceded her in death April 16 1934 She was a member of the Central Church of Christ She is survived by one son Alva Hicks of Herrin a daughter Mrs Jewell Casey of Mt Vernon a sister Mrs Margaret Dunn of Zenith Washington four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren

EAST ST LOUIS ILUA Three children died in two fires caused by overheated stoves early today. Oceola Richards 6 and his brother Frank Jr 4 were among the victims. Bonnie Johnson 14 months also perished. The elder Richards carried his wife and five month old daughter Deborah from a window. he could not reach the two boys. The Johnson girl was found dead in an upstairs bedroom. Mrs Richards and the two girls received burn treatment at St Marys Hospital. Firemen reported Johnson aided two other children from the home.
