H E Halbrooks died this morning at age 79. longtime restaurant operator and resident of Mc Vernon for 33 years. He married Mary Miller on December 24 1946 and she survives. Survivors include daughter Blanche Schwartz of Peoria two sisters Annie Maddox of Oakland Illinois and Kate Jewrenan of Til, plus one granddaughter. Body sent to Myers Chapel. funeral plans incomplete.
