Sheridan Thomas Owen Sheridan dies at 71
Thomas Owen Sheridan 71 of 609 Perkins Ave. died Wednesday night at 41:10. He was born February 7, 1901 in West Frankfort, son of Rev. Samuel and Magdalena Sheridan. Survived by wife Carrie Eubank and two sons Gerald Vernon and Robert, plus two daughters Esther Porter and Pat Hunter. Also survived by two sisters Edna Smith and Myrtle Killis, two half-sisters Frances Selby and Ruth Grant, a half-brother Gene Sheridan, and 13 grandchildren with three great grandchildren. Funeral held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Myers Chapel. callers may visit after 5 p.m. Friday. He was a cement finisher and member of Second Baptist Church. Various other relatives listed.

Theresa Dare, daughter of Herbert and Mrs Dare Jr, conducted an archaeological dig on the Dare farm southwest of Mt. Vernon last summer as an eighth grader at Casey Junior High. Now a freshman at Mt. Vernon Township High School, she is cited by Hilliard as an example of outstanding instruction in the city's grade schools, guided by eighth grade science teacher Suzanne Ludwig.

Burglary Transfer Three To Franklin Co. On Drug Charges
Three men arrested yesterday were moved to Franklin County where they face burglary charges. Marc Harris 18 Bonnie Douglas Hilliard 19 and Darrell Moses 19 are accused of breaking into Holland's Drug Store in West Frankfort Thursday morning and stealing drugs. The manager Fred Kondritz said $531 worth of drugs and equipment were stolen, the third burglary at the store in 12 months.
