Jesse R Wood of 606 Dallas Street Big Spring Texas died in a nursing home there last night at 11:55 he was 35. He lived in Mt Vernon until August moved with his wife Maude to Big Spring born August 20 1885 in Jefferson county son of Wm T and Sarah French Wood. He worked for Mt Vernon Car Co for 50 years retiring in 1952. Survived by wife three daughters Lela Mae Wood Gladys Berg of Dallas and Freda Chadd of Big Spring three grandchildren and a brother Hl A Wood of Wauchula Florida. Body at Nalley Pickle Funeral Home Big Spring with funeral 10:30 a.m. Wednesday burial Trinity Memorial Park Big Spring.

Stolen car found abandoned after late night stop
A car reported stolen from W G Motors Co was found abandoned near 34th and Fisher's Lane after Graydon Williams at Martin Service Station saw a man in his early 20s pump a dollar’s worth of gas at about 3 am. No keys remained and the battery was dead. Police identified the car as stolen from the used car lot.
