Rural Firemen Report Five Weekend Runs
The rural fire department logged five runs over the weekend, four for grass fires all on Saturday at 2:42 p.m. to Alonzo Buttrum’s home at 29th and Fisher’s Lane, at 2:53 p.m. to the C. and E. I. right of way 14 1/2 miles south of town, at 3:03 p.m. to Nancy Black’s home 1003 N. 13th Street, and at 6 p.m. to a blaze on the Route 37 right of way 14 1/2 miles south. Sunday at 12:24 a.m. the department responded to Bill Mayo Jr.’s home 1209 N. 14th Street for a flue back up with smoke but no fire damage.
