Mrs Isabelle Sarah Norris Overturf of Ashley Road Mt Vernon died last evening at her son Earl's home in Ashley six days after her 84th birthday and five days after husband William M Overturf's death. Funeral Saturday 2 pm at Kringer Funeral Home Ashley with Rev Kenneth Holland. Burial Oakwood Cemetery Mt Vernon. Survived by five sons Charles Edgar Earl Vallie and Newton, one daughter Emma Summers, two brothers, nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A son William Pearl Overturf and daughter Callie Clay preceded her.

Mrs Rose Ellis Laney of Mt. Vernon has learned funeral services for Marvin E Gray 39 East St Louis will be held Sunday from Kurrus funeral home East St Louis. Gray a building contractor died in a New Orleans area plane crash on New Year’s Day along with his wife and another St Louis couple. His body and the others remain unrecovered. he left two daughters Marlene and Judy and was survived by his mother Mrs Tom Wright and grandmother Mrs. Rose Laney.
