Wall Street advanced for a fourth day as January reinvestment demand and tax loss selling shaped trading. Stranded Family Helped By Shelton Freeway Station

A stranded Texas to Michigan family with six children received aid from Shelton Freeway station staff. Rural Fire Loss Totals $55,615 In 1966 At Mt Vernon

The Mt Vernon rural fire department reported total fire losses of $55,615 for 1966, up from $28,280 the prior year. The department answered 236 alarms, 69 more than 1965, including 37 residence fires, 19 barn or shed calls, 18 vehicle blazes, two garage fires, one church fire, three business fires, two industrial fires, and 134 grass and rubbish blazes. Nine emergency runs, four standby calls and two false alarms were recorded.

Three Held and One Found Not Guilty in Circuit Court

In a non jury trial Associate Circuit Judge Alvin Lacy Williams found Barry L. Sledge of Route 3 Bluford not guilty of driving too fast for conditions. Three others were fined: Joseph C.
