Mrs Max Schweigheart of Humbolt Til died Tuesday evening. Funeral services planned at Schroeder Funeral Home Arcola Ill with arrangements incomplete. Survived by daughter Mrs Kermit Willmore of Mt Vernon.

A B47 bomber on a routine training refueling flight crashed on a southwestern Kansas farm killing three of four crew members. Lt. Gordon Elton White survived with a minor head injury after parachuting to safety at Hugoton. The deceased were 1st Lt. Max R. Schmaling 28 from Rockford Illinois 1st Lt. Frank Ewing Patterson from Marshall Texas and Capt. Russell Edwin Wynne 35 of Cambridge City Indiana. The crash occurred as the aircraft pinwheeled during a refueling maneuver with a KC97 at Schilling AFB Salina Kansas.

In Murphysboro Illinois AP report Sheriff Raymond Dillinger said Norman Robertson Jr. died in a St. Louis hospital from a gunshot wound received Monday night in front of a Grand Tower restaurant. Lester Williams 64, owner of the restaurant, shot through the door while claiming he intended to scare intruders.
Gov. Nelson A. Rockefeller in his 1960-61 message to the Legislature proposes a local sales tax plan to add about 100 million dollars for schools and pledges a pay as you go budget. He calls for holding state spending at 2.021 billion, offsets for federal highway revenue declines, unemployment and workers compensation benefits rise to 50 a week, tax relief for small businesses, truck tax changes, simplified state income tax filing, and a $25 tax credit for qualifying unmarried heads of households benefiting about 250,000 taxpayers with an annual revenue loss of roughly 3.75 million dollars.

Harrisburg Illinois judge Lyn don M. Hancock lost to Harry L. McCabe in a nonpartisan city election. Hancock who served 12 years and two six year terms gathered 1572 votes to McCabe 1769. Donald Wirth ran unopposed for clerk of the court.
Mr and Mrs Lafayette Lusby of RFD 1 Woodlawn welcomed a daughter born at 9 08 this morning weighing eight pounds six ounces. Mr and Mrs DeQuincey Taylor of 1107 Lamar welcomed a son born at 6 06 this morning weighing seven pounds five ounces named Leonard Troy.
Hillard E. Park is the new Scout Executive of the Kaskakia Council, which includes Vernon and Jefferson county Boy Scouts. Park comes from Eau Claire Wisconsin and will start February 1 with 17 years in professional Scouting. He plans to move his family to Belleville after the current school year.
An Eastern Airlines DC7 with 88 aboard made a precautionary landing at Langley Air Force Base Virginia after one propeller went out of control. The plane was en route from Miami to New York. Another aircraft was sent to Langley to ferry the passengers home.

Her daughter was stranded en route from Chicago to New Orleans and may try to fly into Natchez via New Orleans. Mrs Mead was married to Herbert J Mead president of Bluff City Motors Co. Her son Herbert Mead Jr. attends the University of Mississippi.
