Wagner Act Restoration Proposed Amid Truman Plan Drift

Continued discussion outlines modifications to the Wagner Act urged by Mr. Truman, with possible additions such as a non Communist affidavit. The plan includes economic controls but may drop standby price wage authority or steel plant building power. Welfare measures like education aid social security expansion housing and higher minimum wage are listed, along with a doubtful prepaid medical insurance. Farm benefit changes face potential fights across party lines. Reciprocal trade extensions appear likely, while Civil Rights, university military training, tidelands federal control, and St Lawrence Seaway authorization remain doubtful items.
