Edward D. Damon, a Mt. Vernon former resident and Mt. Vernon car shops retiree, died at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday in Jacksonville, Florida, where he had lived the past three years. He was 74 years old. The body returns to Mt. Vernon for funeral services Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Myers Chapel with Rev. Carl Whittington officiating. burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. He was born January 26, 1887, married to Cora E. Skidmore, who died November 9, 1954, and survived by a son Lester Damon of Jacksonville and one granddaughter.
