Funeral services for John W. McDonald, 88, of 20 North Bear Street, McLeansboro, will be held at 1 00 p m tomorrow at Donelson Funeral Home with Rev John Meulding. Burial follows in the 600FL cemetery in McLeansboro. He died Monday at Veterans Hospital in Marion after a year of illness. Born December 1 1865 in Hamilton County to John Henry and Nancy Cook McDonald, he married Elizabeth Trammel on June 8 1903, who survives along with a son Arthur L. McDonald of McLeansboro, a brother Joe Henry McDonald of Peoria, one grandchild, and two great grandchildren. He was a Spanish American War veteran and a member of the McLeansboro Masonic Lodge, the McLeansboro VFW, and the First Christian Church of Dale.
