Deaths Lucille Slater Dies In Miami
Lucille Leslie Slater 49, of Miami Florida and formerly of McLeansboro Illinois, died during an eye operation at a Miami hospital Saturday night December 31. Services were held Tuesday at Trinity Methodist Church in Miami. She was born January 4, 1906 in Knights Prairie, Hamilton County. She attended McLeansboro High School, married Fred Slater, and survived by her husband, a daughter Mrs. William Jones of Miami, her father Silas Leslie of McLeansboro, two brothers Clarence and Ernest of Michigan City Indiana, two sisters Mrs. Evelyn Johnson of Grays Lake Illinois and Mrs. Hazel Romano of Miami, and an aunt Mrs. Effie Ewing of McLeansboro.

A farmer in failing health, he will be buried in Oakwood Cemetery after services at Pulley Funeral Home Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev Roscoe Hollis will officiate. Survived by wife Kate nee Newton, daughter Catherine Rutherford of McLeansboro, stepdaughter Doris Harkins of Maplewood Missouri, two grandchildren, sister Ophelia Morris of Opdyke. Parents and two brothers preceded him. Born November 25 1879 at Marlow.
