$1,700 Granted For Cancer Work Here
The Jefferson county chapter receives a $1,700 grant from the American Cancer Society. Of this, $1,200 funds a medical secretary for the cancer diagnostic clinic at Good Samaritan Hospital, directed by Dr. W. G. Parker, with the remaining $500 supporting other local cancer programs. The grant comes in addition to the county chapter’s annual fund drive, per ex ecutive chairman Mrs. John R. Mitchell who announced the news after learning of the award from Dr. John A. Rogers of Chicago.
