Five Resume Voyage On Raft To Polynesia

City And Rural Firemen Answer Nine Alarms
Mt. Vernon city and rural fire men answered nine alarms during the Christmas holiday, all on minor fires. They were called to Morgan Jewelers where a short circuit damaged a neon sign, to Parkmore Drill for a wiring short in a Hobart Hayes owned car, and to 107 South 23rd Street to control a grass fire. They then contained grass fires in the 2700 block of Mannen and the 1800 block of Highland View. Rural units fought two grass fires Sunday on Fairfield Road and Ashley Road, and yesterday extinguished blazes on Waltonville Road and the 800 block of Warren Avenue.
