Wilbur Poole age 85 of 2102 College died at 6 30 p m Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital. A farmer and longtime Camp Ground Missionary Baptist member, he is survived by a son Archer Poole two daughters Grace Guy man and Merle Cheney seven grandchildren six great grandchildren and a brother Ross Poole. Funeral services Sunday at 2 00 p m in Pulley Funeral Home chapel with Rev Bird Green officiating burial in West Salem cemetery. Friends may call after 2 00 p m today at the funeral home. He was born February 9 1870 in Washington county married Stella Archer November 6 1898 who died March 3 1953.

Three held in Hammond bank robbery case
Three men arrested in a $21,000 Hammond bank robbery were ordered held at Hamilton County jail without bond. The suspects are Thomas Ray Patrick 23 of Salyersville Kentucky John Walter Marchrom 25 of Viola Tennessee and Carl George Smith Jr 31 of Boston Massachusetts. They were taken into custody near Pelham Tennessee and later in McMinnville Tennessee. Warrants allege violation of a federal bank statute. A Mercantile National Bank branch in Hammond was robbed by three armed men last Tuesday wearing women's silk stockings over their faces.
