Eight deaths are reported from a string of weekend crashes across Illinois. Marian Sjoestroem, 63, of Grayslake died when her car left U.S. 120 near Libertyville, struck a tree, and caught fire. Leroy Symbol, 24, of Lake Villa, died after his car lost control on U.S. 45 near Gages Lake. his wife was seriously injured. Oak Lawn rider Howard Little, 18, died from head injuries after his motorcycle was struck on Chicago's South Side. Beverly Hameister, 17, of Beecher, died when a car collided with a truck near Beecher. a truck passenger was injured. A Chicago pedestrian, Helen Poirier, 66, was killed crossing a street. Patrick J. Smith, 15, of Vincennes Indiana, burned to death when the car he rode hit a tree near the Indiana line. Two other Vincennes teenagers were injured.
