A memorial service for 68 year old Dr Andy Hall Jr was held Friday at West Presbyterian Church St Louis of which he was an elder and longtime member The Reverend Doctor Yarry Phillips Jr officiated His body was donated to Washington University Medical School in accordance with his wishes He died suddenly Tuesday at his home in University City Missouri from a heart attack.

Funeral services for Augusta Williard Harrawood were held at 2:00 p.m. at Gholson Funeral Home McLeansboro with Rev Frank Griffith officiating. Burial followed in Prospect Cemetery. Harrawood, aged 65, of RFD 3 Broughton, died Thursday morning at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born September 22, 1899 in Hamilton County, son of Carl os and Minerva Harrawood. Illinois Faces Record Cold After Severe Thunderstorm

An intense storm system drove a deep cold air mass into Illinois, setting a new record low of 48 at Chicago Midway Airport. The prior record for this date was 49 in 1891, with only traces of rain reported in the state. The low pressure system moved east into Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York, keeping the northern part cool and the south mildly cooler with highs 75 to 80. Partly cloudy conditions were reported across most of Illinois.

Great River Road Three Mile Segment Opened

In Springfield Illinois the final three mile stretch of the Great River Road from Alton to Grafton will be dedicated and opened to traffic Tuesday. In Ventura California a grieving mother who sought to extend his life by exposing her leukemia stricken daughter to chicken pox was at her bedside when four year old Joy Evans died Friday. Doctors warned the risk but Mrs Evans believed some terminal leukemia cases were arrested by chicken pox and hoped for more time. Joy had leukemia since January and exposure attempts began Aug 1.

Astronauts Near End of Gemini 5 Mission in Orbit

On the eighth day in orbit Gemini 5 astronauts Cooper and Conrad remained alert and cheerful as they approached home. Rum Deal Bottle Is Lost in Mt Vernon

An unknown man suffered a rum deal in Mt Vernon last night when a resident reported a man hiding an object in a ditch on south Fifth street. Police found a half full quart bottle of rum in a sewer tile and confiscated the bottle, disappointing a thirsty citizen in the morning.
