Grace Holm of 425 South 18th Street died at 5 45 AM at Good Samaritan Hospital after a two week illness. A beautician, she was born December 22 1900 in Opdyke Illinois to Norris T Jones and Julia Fiercanatétn Jones. Surviving are her father Norris T Jones of Mt Vernon two daughters Marian Batts East St Louis and Donna Jean Mitchell Carmi and four grandchildren. Funeral Friday at Myers Chapel 2 PM with Rev C L Peterson officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Body lies in state at Myers Chapel after 2 PM Thursday. She was a member of First Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors. A auto accident claimed her husband Jerry M Hole in 1926.

Boy Shot By Companion While Hunting Squirrel in Illinois
In Batchtown Illinois an 11 year old boy Frank Hauser Jr. of Collinsville was shot to death by a companion who mistook him for a squirrel while hunting with his father Frank Sr. and uncle Jake Hauser. Coroner Mike Imming said the boy climbed a tree to dislodge a squirrel and was hit by a moving-branch firing, pronounced dead at a Hardin doctor’s office.
